I live on The Tendring Peninsular which is a short drive from “Constable Country” but spent my early years in Wiltshire which left me with a love of the landscape and the wildlife subjects.
I have always drawn and painted from an early age and A-level art at school but didn’t study art at college. I worked in many different jobs, painting in my spare time, but then got involved in professional art when I landed a job as a CG artist for Level 9 Computers in the early 80’s. Since then I have worked for Edcom games company doing digital painting. I became a freelance artist in 1990 working with traditional media painting a wide range of subjects many of which have been to commission. I have now combined my love of traditional media with digital and 3D modeling.

My choice of medium is dictated by the subject and the mood I am in at the time of painting. Over the years I have tackled many subjects and quite like doing work to commission because such pieces often set me a personal challenge. It is surprising what people will ask one to paint!
For the last eight years I have been running art classes and after working for Tendring Community College for many years I now teach privately at www.watershedstudio.co.uk, in St. Osyth, which is near my home and run courses for Anne Laidler at www.artofcourse.co.uk.
I have in the last couple of years been doing quite a bit of digital work, eg. photography, digital painting and 3D modeling and find this adds a nice contrast to my traditional painting. I rely on using a Fuji Fine Pix 2800zoom and Corel Photopaint for my photographic work. I use Corel Painter for my digital painting and for my 3D work I use Cinema 4D, with numerous plugins, Vue 5 and Z-Brush .
